We’re wont to tell just about anybody who will listen that there’s but one means of bringing the hostages back alive out of Gaza—all of them, and fast.

Unfortunately, no one is listening… At least, no one important.

So, if anyone important is out there and does want to know, it’s really quite simple.

You just inform the Hamas leadership, via Qatar or Egypt or whomever, that in 24 hours Damascus won’t exist, or Amman or Jenin—it really doesn’t matter.

And then, after 24 hours, you rain fire and brimstone down on said city, killing all and sundry and maiming the rest.

Then…You place another call to Qatar or Cairo or whomever, and inform them of the next city that has a 24 hour clock-tick pending.

You don’t think that would get the phone ringing?!

Those hostages would be out in a heartbeat!—and the entire world would stand in slack-jawed awe over the seriousness of the Jewish nation in looking after its own.

Anyway, you can imagine our jubilation when Rav Yehuda Richter, former mashgiach at the Yeshiva of the Jewish Idea and all-round Ohev Yisrael extraordinaire, offered a three-part halachic analysis of the hostage issue on youtube.
