I find this framing strange. It gives Yaakov credit for destroying Hizballah, Hamas, Syria - yet acknowledges the army that did so is run by Edomite (i.e. Eisavite) Erev Rav?
It seems arbitrary to say Esiav is failing because some random Western leaders are struggling. In fact, more competent leadership only strengthens Eisav.
I see your point and, as always, appreciate you writing.
I see it differently.
The war has been prosecuted by Erev Rav leaders, yes, as have all Israel's wars. But now, we're taking territory and, ostensibly, keeping it. The one and only time this happened was in 67, when we were blessed by Hashem with an abundance we never saw before or since (not including the biblical period).
Regardless our leadership, and as evil as they may be, Hashem is pleased when we reclaim lands He promised to Avraham.
Yaakov is on an upswing.
At the same time all the leaders of the western world who presided over antisemitic riots and attacks and threats over the last 16 months have been replaced or are on their way out. (Add the chancellor of Austria, who just last night resigned.)
This is not at all "random" in my view. It's unprecedented. And precisely as we're destroying the enemy and liberating our patrimony.
As for the Erev Rav, the situation here in Israel is as fragile as it ever was, with the entire state literally on the verge of breaking apart, and very much because the average soldier sees the perfidy of both the military and civilian leadership of the state. And that's saying nothing of the entire crimunal justice system, which is as corrupt as Zimbabwe and EVERYONE despises. The state and the Erev Rav is on its way out.
You say more competent leadership is taking over in the west. I say it doesn't matter. The disintegration of Esav is already well underway. The rise of anti-immigrant parties across the west is a portent of civil war and complete political dissolution.
The arabs are not leaving their newly claimed lands without an all out war against the natives.
The two terror attacks in the US on New Year's Day and the Xmas ramming in Germany are a sign of things to come.
No leader, however competent, will be able to stem the tide.
They literally have no idea what they're up against.
I hear you that they get credit for reclaiming land, despite themselves. Still, it's hard to call Eisav on a downswing, when the Erev Rav are eisav themselves.
But it's all much of a muchness - we will win in the end, the timeline is out of our hands - and sure, we should celebrate every milestone.
The leaders have foreign values, but the soldiers doing the actual fighting are largely true Jews, albeit they sometimes put too much value in obedience. Any gains we make should be credited to the fighters making those gains.

What do you mean by credit?
I think he means the war is being won by the rank and file soldiers, not the top brass.
Like you said above, "despite themselves" -- despite the Erev Rav, the Jews are winning.
